A cold night in Dover

Last night for my photography class, we went for an outing in Dover to do a little street shooting. These are some of my better pictures that I got. They were taken with great physical cost to myself as I didn't have any socks and my toes were big blocks of ice by the time we came inside. I did have a lot of fun, despite the cold, with the long exposure times that were necessary to get these shots of the cars and the water. I hope you enjoy them too.

Close up Geese and Ducks

As my dad pointed out, the shots below are better landscape pictures than wildlife shots. This is a better shot of the geese and mallards, without the distracting scenery.

Geese!

The last part the assignment was to get a picture of a wild animal. I thought it was a lost cause as it is winter and most animals are hibernating already. But look! I found geese on Kendal Pond just around the corner from my house today as I was driving to school!

Moon thru the trees

This wasn't part of an assignment but I have been wanting to get a good shot of the moon. I had to lean against the side of my house for stability since I don't have a tripod yet. It worked alright as this one is in focus. The moon is never as big on photos as it is in real life. Oh well.

Architectural Shot

This is the church near the Derry Cemetery. There was pretty good lighting as I was coming home from my church so I doubled back and got a couple shots. This one was the best.

Landscape

The assignment was to take a landscape picture with dramatic lighting. I don't know if this fits the assignment but I thought it was too good to pass up. Who would have thought that your own backyard would look so different in just one day!
